New roll for sausage factory

November 2015

Coopers Gourmet Sausage Rolls in Roden near Shrewsbury, is a rapidly expanding company (their sausage rolls are superb) who had outgrown their old facility and has taken over new premises.

Ivan Watkins, the MD purchased what was once the Co-op tomato packing plant, which was frankly in a bit of a state, as the building had been derelict for a number of years. Luckily the floor slab, although pretty damp due to water ingress was structurally sound, and so he converted one large open space, into a modern, up-to-date food grade quality production area. This area was to be used to prepare, make, bake, pack and dispatch their gourmet sausage rolls.

The main cooking area was overlaid in a Reetop PU screed system due to the temperatures in the main preparation areas, and was completed in a heavy-duty Reegrip system. The toilets and changing areas were completed in our Reeflor EL002 whilst the dispatch and fridge areas were completed in EC017. We had to check and redirect the existing falls in the concrete slab that, and in order to get the falls the correct way, we had to make good with our Reetop PU polymer screed prior to any finishing materials being installed, to ensure all liquids being used got to the drainage system. The total project value was £15,000 and was all completed during their normal production hours.
