Caught up in red tape

March 2013

A nine-day job for Magnox to provide a floor suitable for the use of air bearings, to move contaminated casks within a de-commissioned nuclear power station in Transfyndd, turned into a two and a half month slog, sorting H & S paperwork, extended standing time awaiting confirmations, and an ever changing specification and brief.

Originally contracted to remove the existing SL flooring system from the 395 square metre area, prep and overlay with new, the project turned into a patch and overlay job due to red tape and immoveable equipment.

This is the second such job for this customer this year with another due to start in September.
